Politicians belonging to Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Sunni Tehreek and other parties have reiterated their pledge against the terrorists vowing they are united against terrorism.
They made this pledge at an All-Party Conference (APC) held under the aegis of the MWM Karachi chapter where Najmi Alam o PPP, Sajid Ahmed, parliamentarian belonging to the MQM, Shamim Firdous Naqvi of the PTI, Matloob Awan of Sunni Tehreek, Qazi Ahmed Noorani of JUP, Jameel Noorani of Sunni Ittehad Council, Manzar ul Haq Thanvi of Muttahida Ulema Mahaz, Al Haj Mohammad Rafi of Nizam-e-Mustafa Party and other politicians spoke. Mubashir Zaidi and Ali Hussain Naqvi represented the MWM at the APC.
They said that the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba and sister wing Lashkar-e-Jhangvi are the local branches of Daesh, al-Qaida and Taliban in Pakistan. They said that federal government should take stern action against them and the Opposition parties would back them in counterterrorism efforts.
They said that Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Aziz preached terrorism and publicly endorsed terrorism across Pakistan but he enjoyed freedom and no action was taken to rein in him. They said it is tantamount to failure of the state. They said that when civilian courts or superior judiciary fail to punish the terrorists, military courts would have to replace them for this sole task.
They said that counterterrorism operation should not be limited to Karachi or parts of Balochistan but operation to eliminate terrorists must be expanded to all parts of Punjab as well.
