Tens of thousands of supporters Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen thronged to Islamabad Parade Ground to participate in the mammoth public meeting to commemorate the 29th martyrdom anniversary of great martyr Allama Arif Hussain al Hussaini.
The public meeting or the “Mehdi-Bar Haq Conference” was held under the aegis of MWM. Renowned Sunni and Shia religious scholars, leaders of political and religio-political parties spoke on the occasion.
At the outset, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, the secretary general of the MWM congratulated Pakistani nation on the 70th anniversary of Pakistan’s establishment.
He said that all Muslims share this belief that Imam Mehdi, the last divine saviour, would definitely come or reappear to establish justice in this world that has been replete with oppression and injustices. He said that all let alone Muslims, a vast majority of people of other faiths too believe in the saviour of mankind or Messiah. He said that all believe the last saviour Imam Mehdi will succeed in his sacred mission to rid oppressed people of oppression.
Allama Jafari said that the divine teachings of Islam, Quran and traditions of the infallible leaders of Islam promised that the government of Allah’s righteous servants on Allah’s soil would be established prior to the doomsday.
“Great martyr Allama Arif Hussaini always preached this idea and struggled for the rights of oppressed people. He wanted to see the establishment the government of qualified pious people,” he said, adding that Allama Hussaini struggled against the forces of oppression and tyranny.
He said that the purpose of the Mehdi Bar Haq Conference was to keep alive the idea of martyrdom according to the teachings of great martyr Hussaini. He said that stooges of the arrogant powers assassinated because they failed to bow him and also failed in buying him.
“Dictatorial regime of General Zia and his remnants had an agenda to promote and strengthen takfiris in Pakistan and they were responsible for the brutal murder of Allama Hussaini,” he said, adding that Shia Muslims were second largest majority in Pakistan after their Sunni brothers hence Zia regime plotted to weaken both of them. They conspired to promote hatred among Pakistanis through sectarian elements.
Allama Raja Nasir said that Shia Muslims were pulled out of buses and were ferociously killed for one reason that they were Shia Muslims. He said that enemies of Pakistan were imposed on Shia Muslims and entire Pakistan under Zia’s plot.
He lamented that Shia Muslims were subjected to enforced disappearances despite the fact that they never resorted to violence against civilians or security forces but takfiri who perpetrate terrorist attacks are allowed free hand.
He also complained that Shia Muslim scholars were put behind the bars in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that even in Punjab, Shia Muslims are victims of state-sponsored pressure tactics. He said that in KP province where Imran Khan’s PTI rules, cases were registered against MWM worker for raising slogans against illegitimate state of Israel.
MW chief also denounced the disqualified Nawaz Sharif saying he was a corrupt and unworthy person and he should not be considered a hero. He urged the PMLN leaders to remain loyal to the country instead of Nawaz Sharif. He vowed his support to every institution that is committed to fight against terrorism, rule of law and provision of justice. He announced that he and his party would play an active political role and oppose the supporters of terrorists.
He demanded that justice ne done to the heirs of martyr of Model Town Lahore. He called for making public the report of Justice Baqir Najafi.
Sunni Ittehad Council chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza appreciated the MWM’s efforts for unity of Muslims and the mission of great martyr Allama Hussaini. He further said that great martyr Allama Arif Hussaini was a credible name and known for his integrity and selfless practical steps for the Shia-Sunni unity and his sacred mission continues today.
He said that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified, but there are many pending cases in which he would face the divine court of God.
Allama Amin Shaheedi said that Allama Hussaini’s message and stance was vindicated because now whole nation stands together today. H stressed that the teachings of martyred leader needs to be implemented in our practical life. Syed Masoom Naqvi, leader of the Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan (Niazi) said that martyr Allama Hussaini was equally popular among Sunni and Shia Muslims because he was the leader of the unity of the Ummah.
