Imamia Students Organization (ISO) on Tuesday rejected the proposals tocurtail the Muharram processions and Azadari, *in order to control anyÂ untoward situation and said that the government should provide protection toÂ such religious gatheringsÂ and their participants,* and warned government notÂ to restrict ISO activities.Speaking at a press conference here at Karachi Press Club, ISO centralÂ president Rehman Shah Â said that it is the responsibility of the Â governmentÂ to ensure protection of the religious processions and Majlais during theÂ month of Muharram and provide security to the mourners.
He said that if people did not raise voice against such restrictions thenÂ one day shopping in bazaars and offering Friday prayers would also be bannedÂ in the name of security.
He said that mourners of Imam Hussain (AS) express their love with HazratÂ Imam Hussain (AS) and rest of the martyrs of Karbala and the rulers wereÂ morally bound to extend full cooperation to participants of Majalis.
He said that the ISO will organize Youm-e-Hussain (AS) events in theÂ educational institutions across the country besides arranging the Majlais at Â local population during the 10 days of Muharram, whereas the Imamia ScoutsÂ would cooperate with the concerned government department to maintain theÂ security arrangements.Back to top button
He suggested deployment of security forces in sensitive area of theÂ procession.
He condemned a statement appearing in a section of the press in whichÂ government directed the Law Enforcement Agencies not to allow ImamiaÂ Students Organization to take part in the Muharram processions.
He said that the agents of United States and Israel are hatching theÂ conspiracy against Imamia Students Organization on the directives of theirÂ bosses.
