Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Police arrested a notorious terrorist of banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan who was wanted in terrorism related cases.
Shiite News Correspondent reported here that police conducted a raid in SITE area where they arrested Inayat alias Mulla, a notorious terrorist of banned Taliban. Government had declared Rs 0.5 million as head money on his capturing.
On the other hand, Police found over 280 kilograms of explosives in a rickshaw near 4K Chowrangi in Surjani Town on Wednesday.
A police team spotted a rickshaw carrying several sacks and signalled its driver to stop. The driver tried to speed away but the cops chased down the vehicle. While searching the rickshaw, the policemen found explosives inside nine sacks.
Surjani SHO Shabbir Ahmed told The News that bomb disposal squad officials were called to the scene and after examining the material packed in the sacks, they concluded that it contained charcoal, aluminium powder, potassium nitrate and some other chemicals used for making firecrackers as well as improvised explosive devices.
The rickshaw driver, Muhammad Amir, told the police that he was hired by three or four men to shift the sacks from Surjani Town to a factory in Khud Ki Basti. He added that these men were escorting him to the factory on motorcycles when the police stopped the rickshaw. The police later raided the factory where the explosives were being taken but found that it was closed.
