Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen met Shah Owais Noorani, general secretary of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) at his residence in Karachi.
Shiite News Correspondent reported here that Maulana Baqar Zaidi, Mehdi Karbalai and Meesam Abidi of the MWM and Mustaqeem Noorani and other members of the JUP were also present.
Leaders of Sunni Bralevi party and Shia party exchanged views on overall situation of Pakistan, Arab monarchies’ interference into internal affairs of Pakistan, terrorism and the government talks with the Taliban terrorists.
Shah Owais Noorani son of Allama Shah Ahmed Noorani told reporters that heirs of the martyrs should have been taken into confidence vis-à-vis government talks with the Taliban. He said that the issue should not be seen in the sectarian perspective because Islam is in fact in danger. He urged that stern actions need to be taken.
Allama Shaheedi said that the talks would aggravate the already deteriorated law and order situation in the country because that would encourage the terrorists instead of making them to surrender.
Shah Owais Noorani thanked Allama Shaheedi for his visit and exchange of views. Both leaders termed it fruitful for unity of Muslims.
