Pasadaran IRGC chief in Pakistan for talks on kidnapped Iranians

IRGC spokesman, Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif, said (Pasdaran) IRGC’s chief commander, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, and Commander of IRGC’s Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, traveled to Pakistan at the head of a delegation to discuss the issue of abducted Iranian border guards/volunteers.

He said that the IRGC has made “special and immediate” efforts to secure the release of the kidnapped Iranian forces and counter the terrorists supported by foreign intelligence services.
They would pursue the release of the abductees and consult with Pakistani officials on joint measures to severely counter terrorism and ensure lasting security in border areas, the IRGC spokesman said.
He told IRNA on Monday that 12 border guards have been kidnapped, rejecting earlier reports about the abduction of 14 forces.
