Shia religio-political parties’ leaders have condemned the killing of senior Deobandi cleric and chief of JUI-S Samiul Haq and expressed sympathy with the heirs of the former Senator and veteran of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.
Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, chief of Shia Ulema Council and Islami Tehreek Pakistan, condemned the assassination. He offered condolences over the killing. He said that Samiul Haq had worked for unity of Muslims. He said the slain religious scholar would be remembered for his services.
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Punjab chapter secretary general Allama Syed Mubarak Ali Mousavi condemned the brutal murder and said that he and his party stand with the heirs of senior scholar Samiul Haq in this time of grief and sorrow. On behalf of MWM, he offered condolences over the tragedy.
He said that anti-peace external forces could have been behind the sad killing because Samiul Haq was playing his role for peace in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He said that Daesh takfiri terrorists could also have been involved in the murder for that reason because it too sabotaged peace in Muslim countries.
Allama Moosavi said that the timing of the murder of Samiul Haq was also significant due to US policy in the region. He urged the government and security agencies to intensify counterterrorism operations to eliminate Daesh and their abettors in the country.
