The cleric Asim Makhdoom who heads Kul Masalik Ulema Board called on Allama Qazi Niaz Hussain Najafi, principal of Jamiatul Muntazir in Lahore where both discussed inter-sectarian harmony and tolerance.
The Kul Masalik Ulema Board is a body comprising of representatives from all Islamic schools of thought, including Shia Muslims.
The two eminent scholars agreed to hold training programmes for administration, teachers and students of religious seminaries to guide them how to discourage and end sectarian tension and extremism.
Mr. Asim Makhdoom said that inter-sectarian interaction, coordination and cooperation is being strengthened for the better future of students.
Allama Qazi Niaz praised the kul masalik ulema board for its efforts to bring various Muslim schools of thought closer, he assured him of his all out cooperation and support. He drew his attention to the fact that takfirism pose serious threat to Islam, Muslims and Pakistan, in particular. He said takfiri terrorism and extremism caused irreparable losses to Pakistan and takfiris and their takfirism must be defeated and discouraged at all levels.
