Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has begun its JanNisaran-e-Imam-e-Asr Convention yesterday in Islamabad where it has entered second day on Saturday (today). The event is important because MWM’s Electoral College will elect secretary general of the party for three years term.
The convention began with celebrations to mark birth anniversary of the commander of the faithful and leader of the pious Imam Ali (AS). Jashn-e-Maulood-e-Kaaba began with recitation from Holy Quran verses.
District representatives from all over Pakistan and northern areas including Gilgit-Baltistan are participating in the convention to elect secretary general.
Incumbent Secretary General Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari has been the only secretary general since MWM’s inception because he had been elected on that position thrice and even now there is no other potential rival to him for that position.
