Political backwardness is the key problem of Gilgit Baltistan: Agha Rahat Hussaini

Renowned scholar and Friday Prayers leader of Gilgit Allama Syed Rahat Hussain al Hussaini has said that political backwardness is major issue of Gilgit-Baltistan because those become politicians to decide destiny of people by making decisions at highest level have lack needed credentials.
He expressed these views, addressing a ceremony in Rondo Thwar area that was held to mark celebrations on the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali Akbar (AS).

Root cause of all ills

Agha Rahat Hussaini said that politicians and contractors are devoid of required qualification and these non-qualified and incompetent people are root cause of problems of Gilgit-Baltistan because said politicians divide people for their personal gains.
“Unfortunately, Gilgit-Baltistan is suffering from darkness due to lack of electric power supply although experts have concluded that Gilgit-Baltistan has potential and capacity to produce 50,000 megawatt electricity,” he noted.
Allama Rahat said that River Indus originates from their region but people of their area are longing for potable drinking water and they have to buy drinking water tankers. All this is because there is no comprehensive policy on energy and water and if funds are released from Centre, politicians and bureaucracy, from top to bottom, misappropriate funds and funds don’t benefit common man. He emphasised that all this callousness and corruption must end.
