Three suicide bombers lost their lives in a failed attack on Police Lines Loralai in Balochistan today where one policeman martyred and four injured.
According to Balochistan IG Police, three attackers wearing suicide jackets stormed the main gate of the Police Lines area.
Inspector General Mohsin Hassan Butt further said that police and other law-enforcement agencies countered the attack in a timely manner.
Due to retaliatory action, the suicide bombers lost their lives. Furthermore, he said, terrorists attacked when policemen were taking an examination.
Prior to that, they also exchanged fire in which one policeman embraced martyrdom while four sustained injuries. The injured policemen shifted to a hospital for medical attention.
According to reports from the site, the process of clearing the area has now begun amid beefed up security in and around Loralai.
Army’s media wing ISPR confirmed that three bombers were attempting to target Police Lines in Loralai.
It said in a press release police killed one at the main gate at entry point. However, two others managed to get inside the premises.
Further, it noted FC and police QRF [quick response force] immediately reached the site and cordoned the area off.
In exchange of fire one suicide bomber exploded himself while the security officials killed the other.
Police Head Constable Allah Nawaz embraced martyred in the exchange of fire, the ISPR said.
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani condemned the attack and expressed condolences over the death of the policeman.
