a protest group consisting of many antiwar and civil rights organizations as well as war veterans held the demonstration in front of the White House on Tuesday to protest against US President Donald Trump and his policies, with some calling on him to stop “Endless War”.
They carried signs and chanted slogans like “Dismantle the US Empire at home and abroad”, “Close US bases on foreign soil”, “Bring the troops home”, and “Survivor says peace not war in our name”.
A speaker at the rally told Tasnim, “We are here to condemn Trump’s (warmongering) policies, including a $54 billion increase in defense spending, firing 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Syria, dropping the ‘mother of all bombs’ on Afghanistan and threatening North Korea”.
“We can no longer sit back and remain silent,” he added.
